We are looking for a talented Product Planning Manager to join our team Galesburg, MI; Columbus or Indianapolis, IN or the greater Seattle, WA area.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
Manages market strategic development. Designs and implements market penetration plans and programs to accomplish business plans or organizational goals targeting business performance.
Lead development of product roadmap for global product or market segments.
Communicates and interacts with external customers and partners to develop product requirements to meet customer needs and fit with portfolio strategy.
Utilizes macro, market, or technology trends, to shape the long-term product plan.Collaborates with Market Segment teams and Account Managers utilizing Human-centered Design (HCD) principles to understand requirements and develop customer-led product plans.
Understand the strengths and weaknesses of the current product to provide input for future product change.
Creates product road map in support of a specific market segment.
Supports Synchronized Business Planning (SBP) Product Review process as the owner of specific projects and market segments within the Master Project List (MPL).
Develops business case and leads Pre-program Planning (PPP) for specific larger-scale opportunities within the portfolio.
Develops value proposition for new products and articulates appropriate position within the portfolio.
Establishes and maintains strong relationships with key stakeholders.Participates in Product Planning Functional Excellence and best practice sharing within the business to drive continuous improvement.
Coaches and mentors cross-functional teams supporting Product Planning.
Drives cross-functional and cross-business unit alignment to the product plan.
Global travel required.

Product Tradeoff Evaluation - Compares and contrasts the interplay of potential product features, regulatory and customer requirements, budget, and technical capabilities to evaluate and decide what can be offered to win in the market.
Prioritizing Market Opportunities - Collaborates with business stakeholders to define criteria and framework for ranking and achieving consensus on market opportunities.
Scenario Planning - Create alternate scenarios each including an assessment of variances to business or financial goals, strategy, vision, and capabilities to enable strategic decision making.
Education, Licenses, Certifications
College, university, or equivalent degree in sales, marketing, technical or a related subject required.
7 years relevant work experience required.
Technical background preferred.
Previous product planning, strategy, or product management experience required.
Technical background desired, with a demonstrated ability to learn new product and technology fundamentals quickly.
Automotive or commercial powertrain experience preferred.
Experience throughout all new product development phases desired.
External customer facing experience desired.
