This is an exciting opportunity in Columbus, Indiana for a CX/UX Design Lead. Cummins USA is where you can work on industry leading projects.

Your impact will happen in these and other ways:

Manages key product line lifecycles. Understands market and industry trends. Leads the marketing initiatives for new product introduction and existing product change introduction.

Develops the long-term product line strategy, forecast, and the annual operating plan.

Provides product line budget requirements into the business unit annual operating plan.

Leads the development of product introduction plans.

Develops all aspects of the marketing mix to ensure the successful launch of new products and throughout the subsequent lifecycle.

Presents marketing approach for functional review and to the change management review group.

Leads pricing activity throughout the product lifecycle.

Leads available marketing resources and uses those resources appropriately and as needed to support the product range.

Ensures that the product branding strategy is implemented effectively, and leads and supports internal and external communications in relations to the product range.

Protects intellectual property of the organization, and works with legal counsel and engineering to ensure asset protection.

Defines and adopts, in the target market, a specific stance relative to the competition with the use of market research capabilities.

Leads improvement of customer satisfaction and solves ongoing customer issues in relation to the product range.

Leads management of the product lifecycle; determines when products should be deemed obsolete.

Develops, implements, and measures results of product promotions.

Engages with other functions and global locations to ensure global profitability of the product line.

Recommends marketing process changes that will improve Value Package Introduction and Value Package Change processes.

Coaches and motivates.

Associate Product Managers; provides guidance and direction on problems and issues; delegates work assignments considering employee skills and development needs.

Maximizing Profitability - Develops strategies that demonstrate the use of all marketing and sales levers (e.g. pricing strategies, promotions, volume based incentives, and value, feature, or benefit selling) to optimize profit.

Positioning For Target Segments - Aggregates appropriate inputs (e.g. customer perceptions, competitor positioning, alternative product capabilities) and determining where we need or want to compete for business within the target market segment.

Product Life Cycle Management - Identifies and executes changes to the product portfolio in response to evolving market dynamics and customer needs

Education, Licenses, Certifications

College, university, or equivalent degree in Marketing, Sales, technical or related subject required.

Experience

Intermediate level of relevant work experience required.

  • Effectively integrate CX/UX/UI development into product development process

  • Manage external relationships with design firms to facilitate timely development of content in support of Product Leader’s roadmaps

  • Integrate market intelligence, competitive insights, and customer feedback into the product development process

  • Collaborate with Business Design and Product Leaders to inform the product strategy and roadmap development.

  • Work with business design, product leaders, and market research to formulate customer insights for current and future products.

  • Facilitate the development of competitive analysis across the product lines identifying key competitors and developing a network of channels to gather competitive market information and develop competitive insight to inform product strategy

  • Establish a user first approach, set up feedback loop and insights matrix to inform continuous product development.

  • Proactively create Vision alignment in design, development and implementation phases.

  • Manage relationships with Design firm(s) in support of product development. Liaison with key players to anticipate needs and create an effective CX/UX development pipeline

Skills - Human Centered Design, User Research (Quantitative & Qualitative Analysis), Design Research Process, Ability to Learn, Knowledge on User Interface Design, Thought Leader, Workshop Facilitation.

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
